Putin: Russia, China agree on almost all Sila Sibiri 2 parameters

MOSCOW, Mar 21 (PRIME) -- Almost all parameters of gas pipeline Sila Sibiri 2 running to China through Mongolia are agreed, President Vladimir Putin said during Russia–China negotiations on Tuesday.

"We have just discussed a good project, this is a new gas pipeline Sila Sibiri 2 running across Mongolia. Almost all terms of this deal were agreed. This means 50 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas, stable and reliable shipments from Russia," the president said.

Putin said the countries should establish a joint Russia–China workgroup on the Northern Sea Route project and said that he saw potential for cooperation in the area.

Russia advocates the use of the Chinese yuan in transactions with the countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America, Putin said. Russia and China are already making about 65% of trade transactions in the national currencies, the practice must be supported.

Moscow is ready to support the Chinese business in replacing the companies that left the Russian market.

Russia expects to expand food exports to China, Putin said.
